Real estate, for me, isn’t just about properties it’s about stories. It’s about the quiet beauty of a colonial beam that’s held centuries of history, the rhythm of morning light over a pasta-tile floor, and the sense of possibility that stirs when someone steps into a space and knows this is it. I’m Cristina Sosa—a real estate professional, university professor, and financial analist with a background in psychology. My work lives at the intersection of heritage, design, and human experience: helping people discover, restore, and reimagine homes that carry history while embracing modern life. Whether it’s a grand casona waiting for its next chapter, a newly built retreat with understated elegance, or an investment property ready to shine on rental websites, my goal is always the same: to make every home tell a story worth living in.

I grew up in Mérida’s historic center, in San Juan, surrounded by family homes that whispered the past. My grandparents ran an horchata factory there, and as a child I played among sugar piles in those old walls back when downtown merida was only starting to become the magical place it is now. Those early memories taught me that spaces hold emotion, that architecture, light, and memory can shape who we become. Years later, after earning an MBA I found myself drawn back to those same streets—not just to live, but to help others fall in love with Mérida the way I once did through the work we do.

My career bridges multiple worlds: real estate, psychology, education, architecture and financial strategy. As a real estate advisor, I guide both local and international clients through every step of buying, selling, and investing in Yucatán—with an emphasis on transparency, market knowledge, personal guidance but most importantly: honesty. For foreign buyers, I make the what seems complex as simple as can be explaining the fideicomiso, escrow, and legal documentation process in clear and friendly terms. For sellers, I ensure pricing is market-verified, compliant with fiscal regulations, and strategically positioned for success in a competitive market. I believe that a property’s value is more than its price per square meter—it’s the story it tells and the future it can create.

Alongside my real estate work, I teach at a university level. Teaching keeps me connected to the human side of every negotiation—the motivations, emotions, and decision-making patterns that influence how people engage with property and investment. My psychology background shapes how I communicate with clients: with empathy, patience, and a focus on understanding their deeper goals. My creative outlet lies in storytelling. Through my social media and article publications, I share the beauty of Yucatán’s evolving architecture, its colonial heritage, modern adaptations, and the people who give these homes new life. I often blend historical research, photography, and personal reflection to capture what makes Mérida such a captivating place to invest, restore, and live.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all over the world and making connections than go beyond a real estate purchase making many friends along the way. Each property tells a different story, and my role is to translate that story into words, visuals, and strategy that resonate with the right audience. I’m a people person at heart. I genuinely enjoy connecting with others, understanding their stories, and helping them navigate moments that often blend logic with emotion—like finding a home. Real estate, to me, is profoundly personal. It’s about creating meaningful connections between people and the spaces they inhabit, about restoring history while designing future possibilities. Every decision—whether emotional or financial—deserves empathy, clarity, and purpose, and that’s the balance I bring to everything I do.
